Become an advocate for Affordable Housing in your community!
Let’s be clear: Affordable Housing is a racial equity issue. We have a role in making all our communities welcoming to the individuals and families among us who are struggling to become or remain housed, because of the lack of affordable homes (rentals and for-purchase).
You can join a city team of social justice advocates who are working together to push for expanded housing opportunities – and against the NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) folks who don’t want to see change – even when it means safe and affordable housing for others.

Volunteer at Swap Meet Justice
Since 2019, Swap Meet Justice has been held at the Oxnard College Community Market (“swap meet”). Every last Sunday of the month, this collaborative effort has been present.. The original, free legal assistance fair is at the heart of Swap Meet Justice. Recently, a “village” of immigrant-serving organizations has been assembled to provide a wide range of important services to immigrant workers and their families.
CLUE-VC has been a part of Swap Meet Justice since its inception. Our volunteers attend the monthly activities on a regular basis. Significantly, CLUE-VC has sought and won funds, as well as served as a budgetary sponsor, to allow the work to thrive.
